A visit will follow to the art gallery “The Magic Mountain”, as well as to the vineyards.
The second winery is “Domaine Costa Lazaridi”, located in the area of Adriani in Drama. It is a winery showing great possibility, whose wine varieties have long ago surpassed the Greek borders, enjoying vast popularity abroad. A guided tour is scheduled, and the possibility to dine in the premises of the winery is offered. Alternatively, you may choose to dine at some traditional tavern on the way back, where you will have the chance to taste some of the local specialties. Return and overnight stay in Kavala.

Day 4

Departure for the traditional village of Arnea in Chalkidiki. A stop is scheduled on the way, in order for us to visit the Alistrati cave. The Alistrati cave is one of the largest and most impressive caves in Greece and, possibly, in Europe. According to Greek mythology, the spot “Petroto” in the canyon of the Aggitis River, which flows through the area of Alistrati, was the place where the sphinx used to appear.
A second stop is scheduled at the winery “Domaine Biblia Chora”, situated at the foot of the Pangaion Hills. This winery seeks to produce fine quality wine, imbued with the distinctive scents of the Pangaion Hills. Lunch can be scheduled in the premises of the winery or on the way, after which the group will continue its journey to the village of Arnea in Chalkidiki. Part of the journey will go through Via Egnatia.
Overnight stay in Arnea, where the group will be accommodated in “Alexandrou” Traditional Inn. This lodging is representative of the traditional Macedonian architecture and is situated in the centre of this historic agglomeration.

Day 5

This traditional mountain village of Chalkidiki has an approximate population of 3,000 inhabitants and can be the starting point for numerous excursions. First stop on the list is the winery “Claudia Papayianni”. Ms Claudia Papayianni has selected the village of Arnea, her father’s place of origin, as the ideal place to begin her engagement with wine-making. Her winery produces high-quality wines which have already won over numerous international markets. Her aim is to produce biological wines which carry the distinctive scents of the nearby Mount Cholomon. Our next destination is the city Stagira; a city of great renown, Stagira is the place of birth of the great philosopher of the antiquity Aristotle. A philosopher of unsurpassable caliber, Aristotle was also the teacher of Alexander the Great. A visit is also scheduled to the Neposi castle of the byzantine era. Lunch on the way before returning to Arnea for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Breakfast and departure for the city of Thessaloniki. Αcquaintance with the city of Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is the second most populated city in Greece; it is called by Greeks ‘co-capital’ and is named after Alexander the Great’s sister. It is a unique city, much unlike any other in Greece. Century-long harmonious cohabitation of many different ethnicities and cultures has given the city a one-of-a-kind character and a sense of diversity and multiculturalism.
Thessaloniki has been and still is the place where the eastern culture meets the western; this blend of mindsets and cultures bestows the city with a completely unique feel, making it vividly stand out. Monuments from the byzantine era abound in the city, most of which are included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.
The people of Thessaloniki are friendly and hospitable, choosing to view life in their own particular way. They value honesty and transparency and they prefer to go about their business in a nonchalant, easy-going manner.
Due to the fact that the largest university in Greece is situated here, the city has a significant youth population, which provides it with a vibrant and lively feel. You can grasp the juvenile pulse of the city merely by having coffee in one of the numerous cafeterias around the city. If, on the other hand, you are keener on a night out, you can always enjoy a glass of wine while savoring the beautiful view of the Gulf of Thermaikos from one of the many beautiful bars facing the seafront. The overall night-life of the city is very active, with bars, cafes, restaurants and many other options in every corner of the city.
The city of Thessaloniki always has something interesting and original to offer; the vast variety of projects, activities, events and actions taking place and being organized in Thessaloniki has fairly given the city the title of the most enchanting city in the Balkans.
The city of Thessaloniki can be a gastronomical heaven for gourmet lovers; countless taverns and restaurants can satisfy even the most demanding customers.
After a tour of Thessaloniki, the group will head over to the winery “Ktima Gerovassiliou”. This winery is considered to be one of the most modern wineries in northern Greece, producing a wide range of high-quality wines. Particularly interesting is the wine variety ‘Malagouzia’. Malagouzia is an old, indigenous Greek variety which, at some point, was ohe verge of extinction. Mr Gerovassiliou and his collaborators worked towards the revival of this variety. During the visit of the winery, a guided tour of the highly original museum, situated within the premises will take place. This museum houses a rich collection of tools from all around the world, used in the processes of viticulture, vinification and bottling. These objects date from the 18th century to the present day. The visit will be followed by dinner and an overnight stay in the city of Thessaloniki.
You can choose one of the following hotels for your overnight stay:
Tourist 3* – A listed historic building houses a modern hotel, situated in a central location of the city.
Anatolia 4* – Renovated, in the center of the city, on Via Egnatia
City Hotel 4*sup – A modern city hotel, located in the heart of the city centre and providing all comforts.
Holiday Inn 4* – The best choice for those who seek the security of an international hotel chain, as well as a lodging situated in the city centre.
Makedonia Palace 5* – Situated right by the seafront and very close to the city centre.
Mediterranean Palace 5* – Next to the traditional area of Ladadika in the city centre of Thessaloniki, this hotel provides a wonderful view of the Gulf of Thermaikos.
