Daily food tour ‘kapani tour’

The participants follow a specific route at’ Kapani market’.Enjoy traditional products such as feta cheese and seasonal fruits,they taste Greek traditional coffee and ‘koulouri’and they buy all the necessary ingredients for the culinary experience.The food tour hides a lot of surprises and everybody should be aware because at the end a special guest ends this multicultural meeting.

Programme food tour :

Begining of the food tour.Meeting point Statue of Venizelos.The participants are given an informative brochure with general info about the shops,the questions of the guests and all necessary phone numbers.
Kapani market.The group enters inside the colourful market of ‘Kapani’.At the crossing of Halkeon and Vlali streets the first stop takes place for tasting and shopping the products needed for the meal prepared during the cooking workshop
Nuts and seeds Reference on greek agricultular products,like seeds and nuts.Shopping: Sesame Seeds
Feta Cheese:Reference on the Greek traditional livestock farming and cheese making,in the market by the lively Vlali street.The group tastes feta and travels back for a short while to the first reports about the most famous chees of Greece.
Greek coffee and Koulouri. At the crossing of Vlali and kidoniatou streets the group visits the corner bakery.There everybody has the opportunity to taste the traditional Koulouri of Thessaloniki and watch is baking process.
Olives and oil:At the next crossing of Kidoniatou and Vlali streets the group tastes olives.A small presentation takes place about the different olive varieties and their use since ancient times,as well as nutritional value of olive oil and the the different ways for its production.
Fish market Before the next stop, a representative of each group visits the fish market for shopping Kalamari component of the workshops main dish.
Modiano market and fruit Stop at Ermou street for shopping fruit.At this point standing across the Modiano market a small reference is given about the famous former Jewish market.The participants have the opportunity to taste greek fruits.
Louloudadika(flower market)The group crosses Ermou street to reach the famous Louloudadika in order to buy the last ingedients and souvenirs.After a small walk at Loutra (old public jewish baths)it stops for buying Greek coffee and greek products.

The tour ends at the restaurant which organises the tour and whoever wants stays for the cooking workshop
